WELCOME

Whitehaven and District Amateur Operatic Society was established in 1904 and even 120 years later we are still committed to bringing Musical Theatre, Plays, and entertainment to life in our local area. We are a member of the National Operatic & Dramatic Association (NODA) and usually perform twice a year, staging both a play and a musical where possible. We are made up of members from age 8 to 80! The WADAOS family is a talented bunch and we are always looking for new members of all abilities, whether onstage or off.

Lynn's final Curtain Call.

The theatre lights may have dimmed today, but the love and memories shared for Lynn shone brighter than ever. Today we celebrated a life filled with music, friendship, laughter, and a true passion for the stage. From rehearsal rooms to standing ovations, Lynn leaves behind memories that will stay with us all forever. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Chair, Lynn McTiffin. Lynn became Chair of WADAOS in 2022 and played a vital role in helping the society recover following the challenges of the Covid pandemic. A passionate supporter of everything WADAOS stood for, Lynn worked tirelessly behind the scenes, particularly in fundraising for our productions. Her unwavering belief in the power of amateur theatre has been instrumental in ensuring a stable future for WADAO
