At the last WADAOS committee meeting our President Ripley Steele gave me a pen drive containing a good number of old photographs, unfortunately they were only negatives. I have been able to convert them into viewable images after some work. Having said that some of them have poor exposure and are of poor quality, others have come through great like the example below.
We are happy to produce them to you over the next couple of months so watch this space. We will be adding them to our already extensive archive here on the website for viewing.
We are very pleased that these photographs have come to light and as always we ask that if you have any, please send them to the webmaster via email on: wadaoswebmaster@gmail.com
Special thanks to Ripley for putting names and dates to most of the photographs!
This morning I looked through our historical archives. I was looking for a production that I could use as a comparison for our up coming production of 'One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest'.
I was unable to find a single production of which there are many, that remotely ties in with this play. WADAOS simply had never ventured in this direction before!
And so in conclusion one can only say that this play is going to be special and unique in our history.
Our cast are exited to work on this play and the committee are looking forward to it. Our chair person is a big fan of the film adaptation and cannot wait to see the performance.
Being about mental health it is very interesting in this age to evaluate how these subjects were managed in the 1960's. A time that does not seem to be that long ago but worlds apart in terms of attitudes and values. There has been much change in the time that has passed since then.
Join us on our visitation of an institution of those times and explore the fine line between sanity and insanity!
