One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest taking us in a new direction!
This spring sees us produce the critically acclaimed 'One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest'. This is WADAOS' first performance of this play. It takes us in a rather different direction to what you might be used to from us. 'One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest is a much darker and adult themed play and although there are many comedic moments from its characters, the story is a tough one. We are looking forward to seeing how our cast will take on this new challenge.
The play is based on the novel by Ken Kesey in fact his first book, and what a book! Made popular in its big screen adaptation under the same title starring Jack Nicholson, Louise Fletcher and Danny DeVito. We are taken on a journey that aims to discover and perhaps expose the very fine line between sanity and insanity.
Nurse Ratched and Randal McMurphy battle it out throughout and its anyones guess who will win, if anyone! You will have to come and see our play to find out!
On stage at the Rosehill Theatre Whitehaven, Whitehaven and District amateur operatic society presents 'One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest' Wednesday 20th to Saturday 23rd March 2024. Tickets on sale soon!
